Terms of Service
Effective / last updated: August 8, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of Lunar Buoy websites and products, including https://www.lunarbuoy.com and https://app.lunarbuoy.com (the “Service”). By creating an account, connecting integrations, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
Lunar Buoy provides tools to record and correlate website and content changes with traffic, search, and related visibility signals — including optional read-only connections to Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console that you authorize. Features may change as we improve the product. Early-access or waitlist offerings may be limited, invite-only, or subject to additional conditions we communicate in-product.
3. Accounts and workspaces
You must provide accurate account information and keep credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account and for ensuring workspace members have appropriate permission to access projects and connected data. Notify us promptly of unauthorized use at support@lunarbuoy.com.
4. Your data and ownership
As between you and Lunar Buoy, you retain ownership of content and data you submit to the Service, including project domains, crawl outputs derived from your sites, notes, and metrics synced from services you connect (“Customer Data”). We process Customer Data to provide and improve the Service as described in our Privacy Policy.
We do not sell Customer Data or personal information. Data the application collects for you remains yours. You grant us a limited license to host, process, transmit, and display Customer Data solely as needed to operate the Service you request.
5. Acceptable use and crawl ethics
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to crawl, scrape, or monitor sites you do not own or lack authorization to analyze
- Circumvent ownership verification, security controls, rate limits, or access restrictions
- Abuse integrations, overload Google or other APIs, or violate third-party terms applicable to connected services
- Upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful material, or attempt to disrupt the Service
- Reverse engineer the Service except where prohibited restrictions are disallowed by law
You are responsible for complying with robots rules, applicable laws, and any contracts that govern the websites and analytics properties you connect.
6. Google and other third-party services
Optional Google connections use OAuth and read-only scopes so Lunar Buoy can display Analytics and Search Console metrics alongside your change calendar. Your use of Google services remains subject to Google’s terms and policies. You may disconnect integrations at any time. We are not responsible for third-party services’ availability, accuracy, or policies.
7. Plans, billing, and cancellation
Paid plans, founding pricing, and waitlist offers (when available) are described on our pricing/waitlist pages or in-product. Fees are processed by Stripe or another payment processor we designate. Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions renew until canceled. Taxes may apply. Refunds, if any, follow the plan terms we publish at purchase time. Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of paid features.
8. Lunar Buoy intellectual property
The Service — including software, branding, documentation, and our look-and-feel — is owned by Lunar Buoy and its licensors. These Terms do not transfer our IP to you. Feedback you provide may be used to improve the Service without obligation to you.
9. Confidentiality
Non-public Customer Data is treated as confidential. We will not disclose it except to provide the Service, with your permission, to subprocessors under confidentiality obligations, or as required by law.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that rankings, traffic, or AI visibility will improve, or that metrics from third parties will be complete or error-free.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LUNAR BUOY AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100) IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID FEES.
12. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Lunar Buoy against claims arising from your Customer Data, your websites or analytics properties, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service and request account closure at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk/harm, or fail to pay. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends; provisions that by nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, limitations, and indemnity) will survive.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in that jurisdiction will have exclusive venue for disputes that are not resolved informally, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with an updated effective date (August 8, 2026 or later). Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.
